Established, Canyon Road art gallery looking for a full-time office registrar. Seeking
someone who is reliable, responsible, loves art and photography. The ideal candidate
wears many hats and will be multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Our newest team
member will manage and deliver gallery projects, in addition to meeting the demands of
varied and ever-changing day to day responsibilities. Being able to easily transition
between tasks and manage time is an important and necessary skill.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
✔Maintaining Gallery Records: Includes maintaining, constructing, and updating
inventory on the gallery’s website, database, and in-house files. Managing the calendar
and gallery schedule for meetings, shipping, and exhibition (installation and de-
installation).
✔Shipping: Packing & receiving of artwork. Ordering custom art supplies. Able to help
move large wood crates, large bronze sculptures, and lifting, carrying, and moving large
artwork.
✔Care and Storage of Artwork and Gallery: Maintain a professional appearance of
gallery display space through art hanging, lighting, painting, spackling, etc.
✔Photography and Editing of Artwork: Includes website/social media/digital catalogs.
The new team member will need to have knowledge of DSLR photography and use of
editing software such as, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. Not needed is a Photoshop wizard,
but a basic familiarity with camera and editing software and a willingness to learn more.
✔Graphic Design: The potential candidate will need to posses skills in print
advertisements, web applications, social media, and website content while incorporating
revisions and feedback into the gallery brand. The use of Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign
is required for this position.
✔Social Media Requirements: Maintain gallery’s social media accounts daily, such as,
Instagram, Facebook (via Facebook Business Suite), and/or similar management tool.
Maintain regular postings, promotion of upcoming gallery events, new gallery
installations, as well as responses to social media’s direct messages, comments, and
general gallery engagements. This will be accomplished under the direction of gallery
principals.
✔Miscellaneous Activities: Deliveries and driving of company vehicle to include various
tasks. Must have a current New Mexico driver’s license in order to be insured through
the gallery. Support team members as need on a daily basis.
Compensation and Work Hours:
Compensation is paid monthly and dependent upon experience, ability and knowledge.
Full-time employment position. Normal work hours will be from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm,
Monday through Friday with extra hours on occasion after 5:00 pm.
