From lightning strikes and ancient lava flows, to campfires and a candle’s glow, the power of fire has captured our imaginations and fueled our resilience. For centuries we have created ceremonies, traditions and spectacles celebrating the fearsome force of fire. Witnessing transformation in the burn scars on our landscape and offering up our failings and frailties to the flames for release and purification Santa Feans have a rich relationship with fire. From the embers and ashes we rise. Smoke clears. Stars shine. Flowers bloom in the dawn of a new day.
 

The Santa Fe Gallery Association in conjunction with the City of Santa Fe Arts & Culture Department. are delighted to bring you this spirited exhibition featuring works from some of Santa Fe's finest galleries and artists reflecting the depth and breadth of our fine art community. Opening on the 80th birthday of Smokey Bear and featuring works from the Centennial Zozobra Collection, this exhibit is designed to ignite your curiosity and invites you to explore some of the traditions and expressions that make The City Different unique and universal.
