The City of Santa Fe is seeking a Community Art Gallery Manager

Salary Range: 12 ($21.544-$32.316 hourly, approximately $45k to $67k annually)

General Definition of Work
Manages the operation of the community art sales space and gallery located in the Convention Center. Responsibilities range from dealing with artists and clients to installing exhibitions to managing a retail area featuring the work of local artists.
Supervision Received
Works under supervision of division director/team leader.
Supervision Exercised

Essential Functions
• Plans, organizes and directs the programming of the space, including overseeing the planning, organizing and presentation of exhibitions; markets and promotes events and exhibitions; selects work for the retail component; promotes and sells artists’ work, both through exhibitions and personal contacts; functions as a liaison with artists and
clients and facilitates sales; arranges transportation of work to and from the gallery; negotiates with gallery managers and curators from other galleries; curates shows in cooperation with artists and the community; keeps up to date with industry developments; manages finances and accounts.
• Prepares and delivers staff reports to appointed boards, commissions, and governing body.
• Participates in various committees, advisory committees, and boards; develops and presents material related to community needs, goals, and services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
