Mayor Alan Webber, the Arts & Culture Department, and the Santa Fe Arts Commission just announced the six recipients of the 2022 Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts.
The Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts were established in 1989 with the first event held in 1991. The awards acknowledge living individuals and active organizations that have made a significant contribution to arts and culture in Santa Fe. Nominations from the community are collected each year for consideration. Throughout the years, the awards have honored a remarkable list of artists, individuals, organizations, and businesses.
In recognition of the 30th Anniversary, this year’s event will recognize the six stellar honorees for 2022, including the first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award. Also invited are all of the over 150 previous recipients from the entire thirty-year history of the event to recognize the rich legacy of the people and organizations who help make Santa Fe the cultural magnet and hotbed of creativity for which it is known.
