Opening this Friday, 9/16 with an Artist Reception from 5-7 pm at Canyon Road Contemporary Art
A natural story-teller, Alabama-based Trés Taylor paints depictions of the many facets of joy with magical realism narratives and repeated symbolic characters, or actors. Painted on humble tar paper with intriguing media combinations like wood putty and gold leaf, his paintings convey the joy of community, and harmony with all beings, as lovers share wine, sisters share meals, monks fly kites and ride bikes in the sky, bringing flowers to their lovers. Playful and yet steeped in important narrative concepts, these painting reach into the heart and spirit with humor, wit, and grace.
