Breath Taking At New Mexico Museum Of Art

New Exhibition at New Mexico Museum of Art: Breath Taking The first lines of the exhibition description cut straight to its vital theme: "Breath. It is one of the first things we do in life and one of the last, but in between we generally don’t give it much thought."

About the Event

Showcasing more than 45 drawings, installations, photographs, sculptures and videos by 18 contemporary artists, the exhibition explores the universal act of breathing by measuring it, scanning it, enclosing it, evoking it and reminding us of our vulnerability. Curator of Photography Katherine Ware states, "Breath is a formidable subject for a visual artist. It is a fundamental but essentially invisible part of our lives. One of the pleasures of the show is seeing how each artist chose to bring breath to our attention."
