Blush and Bloom: Faces and Flowers

This collection of works by some of Santa Fe’s finest artists, invites you to find the face in a flower, the blush in a blossom and mine the depths of your own imagination. Contemporary composited portraits by Patrick Lysaght fill the East Wall with images of women in impossible desert landscapes. Music bursts from their minds, clouds and cacti float through the work with horns and keyboards and strings, speaking to the rich inner life behind each subjects’ eyes.
The North wall is hung with two of Judy Chicago's powerful, graphic floral interpretations: Through The Flower and Into the Darkness. In the center of the wall is Shepard Fairey's dynamic collage, Incarnation which recently appeared on Canyon Road in Cultivate Justice, an exhibition curated by the artist and extended through September 30th of this year. Two exuberant floral works by Britten: Chrysalis - Intrinsic Transformation and Eclipse - Revealing Light frame the wall in light and dark with metallic shimmers of copper, silver and gold.
The Alcove above the gate contains a Healing Forest by Ilse Bolle. These exquisite architectural sculptures (available individually) represent the artist's personal path through a well lived life. Rusted chicken wire and Tamarisk whips stand in contrast to the pure white handmade paper, lending strength, structure and whimsy all at once.
Visitors are invited to indulge their musings as the imaginative, evocative and personal storytelling leaps from these walls. All pieces are available for purchase through their representing galleries, offering you a chance to bring a piece of Santa Fe’s dynamic artistic heritage home.
