Strata Gallery: Inaugural Show

Strata Gallery presents, Strata: A Prologue, an inaugural group exhibition of all current Established  and Emerging Artist members.

As an artist member non-profit, Strata Gallery seeks to showcase the work of internationally Established Artists whose development has typically followed trajectories tangential to prevalent  avant-garde trends. It also showcases the work of promising Emerging Artists who may otherwise struggle for gallery exposure, as their work is likewise at variance with those same trends. The gallery encourages loose creative partnerships between and among these two groups. The membership is currently comprised of 15 established artists, many drawn from university art departments across the  country, as well as 5 emerging artists.

Established Artists: Barbara Mehlman, Binod Shrestha, Cassandra Black, David Olivant, Ira  Greenberg, Jane Shoenfeld, Joomi Chung, Julie England, Lin Medlin, Mary Vernon, Millian Giang  Pham, Nishiki Sugawara-Beda, Paul King, Shelby Shadwell, and Susan Stephenson.

Emerging Artists: Emmanuel Manu Opoku, Jennifer Van, Mercy Hawkins, Phillip Byrne, and  Rachel Taylor.

Mentorship is an integral part of Strata’s mission. Our 15 Established Members provide the expertise and knowledge they have gained through their experience in their respective fields of study. Their experience helps our Emerging Artists learn how to navigate their own careers through our mentorship program. The group show works will include: oil paintings, large scale drawings, installation, sculptures,  photography, and mixed media.

Strata Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday in the Santa Fe Design Center at 418 Cerrillos Road Suite 1C & 1D Santa Fe, NM 87501
